On July 6, 2023, Cutler Bay Solar Solutions had the great honor to be in attendance of Enphase celebrating the grand opening of their first U.S. manufacturing facility in Columbia, South Carolina.
This event marked a significant milestone for Enphase and the advancement of clean energy manufacturing in the United States. The opening ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including President Joe Biden, who delivered remarks highlighting the importance of expanding clean energy manufacturing and creating American jobs.
As you can imagine, we were very excited to attend this event. Once completing all necessary security procedures for the POTUS visit, we made our way in and were warmly welcomed by the Enphase team.
You could not help but to be amazed by the sheer size of the facility and it brought us immense joy knowing this is just the beginning.
This facility, owned and operated by Enphase's partner Flex, represents one of three planned U.S. contract manufacturing sites. The Columbia facility has been specifically developed to produce the IQ8 solar microinverter:
We were extremely impressed with the quality of the production lines. All of the quality control and testing before the product ever leaves the factory speaks to their extremely low .0017% failure rate. With more than 20 quality control people on each assembly line, they test and test again to make sure all high standards are met.
To honor this significant milestone, President Joe Biden joined the opening ceremony, commending the expansion of U.S. clean energy manufacturing and emphasizing the creation of American jobs.
Enphase's commitment to domestic manufacturing goes beyond the establishment of the Columbia facility. The manufacturing facility is expected to create hundreds of high-paying jobs in Columbia and support thousands of downstream jobs through the installation of Enphase products.
Enphase's CEO, Badri Kothandaraman, proudly shared that Enphase has become a household name in the United States, with many homes sporting Enphase products. The company's dedication to innovation and quality has positioned it as a leader in the clean energy sector. With the launch of the IQ8 microinverter, Enphase aims to further solidify its market presence while continuing to drive the adoption of solar energy across the nation.
